The trustees review all normal grant applications with regard to the financial viability of both the organisation and project. You should not make any application for normal grant funding at the present time if the project in question has been postponed.
The Childs Charitable Trust is a grant-making trust, supporting Christian UK registered charities and organisations working both in the UK and overseas.
The trust has two principal sources of income. Firstly, the trust has a stock of property mainly in and around the Eastbourne area. Secondly, the trust has an equity portfolio professionally managed by a firm of stockbrokers.
We receive many hundreds of applications throughout the year and whilst all are considered, it is impossible to respond positively to them all. The Trustees do all they can with the resources available to them.
We are keen to support projects that demonstrate a Christian approach to their work. With this in mind, a new funding criteria has been developed.
The ‘Apply for funding’ page will provide all the information needed to discover if your project matches our new funding criteria.
Please note: The Trustees do not currently accept funding requests for:
- New builds, repair, refurbishment, renovation projects, or fixtures & fittings.
- Salary costs for Youth workers.
- Street Pastors/Wardens
- GAP Year projects.
Applications received in September, October and November will be considered for the January trustees’ meeting
Applications received in December, January and February will be considered for the April trustees’ meeting
Applications received in March, April and May will be considered for the July trustees’ meeting
Applications received in June, July and August will be considered for the October trustees’ meeting
